I was born in Porto, Portugal, on October 12th 1976. In 1999, after finishing a degree in Communication at the University of Minho, I moved to Lisbon and started working as a content producer for television. In 2001 I attended a short film-making course at the New York Film Academy. I lived in Paris from 2002 to 2012, working as a journalist for radio and television and as a documentary filmmaker. I was also member of an amateur theater troupe. In 2006 I attended a Scriptwriting Workshop at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. Another scriptwriting program followed in 2009 at La Fémis in Paris. Writing scripts became the focus of my professional life ever since, and the film “La Fleur de l’âge“, which I scripted, was released in France in 2013. In the meantime I became a mother and helped to manage a parental kindergarten for a year. In Amsterdam, where I lived from 2012 to 2016, I developed a keen interest in the fields of social entrepreneurship and sustainability, and hosted a podcast series on the subject.
Now back in Lisbon with my family, I am developing fiction projects (see my blog and the scriptwriting section) and telling stories about man & nature (in collaboration, among others, with Circular Economy Portugal).
